Stowe, Vermont
There’s something about fall weddings in Vermont that I just love, and E&T’s wedding at The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch was a beautiful reminder of why.
For this wedding, I designed garden-inspired florals with a mix of soft, romantic blooms and deeper blue accents. From the ceremony arch to the bridal bouquet, I wanted the flowers to feel lush, natural, and full of texture while complementing the setting.
The ceremony arch was one of my favorite parts of this wedding. I love creating floral installations that feel a little wild and organic, with flowers and greenery arranged to look as though they naturally belong in the landscape.
The mix of colors and textures brought the design together, creating a beautiful focal point for the ceremony. It’s always exciting to see a floral design come to life on the wedding day, especially when a piece like this sets the tone for everything that follows.
The bridal bouquet was another favorite of mine. It featured garden roses, ranunculus, anemones, dark blue delphinium, delicate blue lace flower, and scabiosa woven throughout.
I love the way the softer pink and romantic blooms work alongside the deeper blue flowers. The combination feels classic but still has that garden-inspired look I love, with plenty of movement and interesting details to discover.
And one of the best parts of a wedding day is when something unexpected happens. The maid of honor took off with the bridal bouquet, making for one of those funny little moments that becomes part of the story of the day!
For the reception, potted herbs in lightly whitewashed terra-cotta pots added a natural touch to the tables. I love incorporating living plants and simple, garden-inspired details into wedding designs. They bring a relaxed quality to the setting while still feeling thoughtful and intentional.
It’s these smaller details, alongside the larger floral pieces, that help bring the overall look together.
The Barn at Smugglers’ Notch is a lovely setting for a Vermont wedding, and it was a pleasure to create the flowers for E&T’s celebration.
Every wedding gives me the opportunity to approach a design a little differently, choosing flowers, colors, and textures that work together to create something personal to the couple and their setting.
I’m so happy to finally share more of this wedding and some of my favorite floral details.
