There is something special about a wedding weekend at French’s Point. Set along the Maine coast, the property feels both relaxed and distinctly New England, with the water, gardens, and historic setting creating a beautiful backdrop for a celebration.
For T and B’s August wedding, we brought that sense of place into the flowers and paper details with a colorful, garden-inspired design that carried throughout their entire wedding weekend.
From their first invitation to the reception tent, every detail was designed to feel connected.
From a hand-painted watercolor of French’s Point on their save the date to lush, garden-inspired wedding flowers throughout their reception tent, T&B’s August wedding was designed as one cohesive visual story.
For their wedding at French’s Point in Stockton Springs, Maine, I created both the custom wedding stationery and full-service floral design, carrying the same artistic language from the first piece guests received in the mail through the ceremony and reception.
The result was a colorful, romantic Maine destination wedding filled with layered paper details, abundant garden-inspired flowers, and a strong sense of place.
Before we designed the wedding flowers, we began with the save the date.
T&B wanted their guests to immediately feel connected to the place where they would gather for their wedding weekend. Rather than using a generic destination illustration, we created a custom watercolor of French’s Point, capturing the property and its coastal Maine setting.
The illustration became the foundation for the stationery design.
Soft blue watercolor, delicate garden florals, and the French’s Point property came together on the save the date, giving guests their first glimpse into the wedding weekend to come.
For us, this is where the design process becomes especially meaningful. Wedding stationery isn’t simply the first piece of paper your guests receive. It can establish the entire visual direction of a wedding.
For T&B, the French’s Point watercolor gave us a visual element that we could continue developing throughout the invitation suite, wedding weekend stationery, and day-of details.
From the save the date, we developed a complete custom wedding invitation suite inspired by the gardens, coastal setting, and relaxed elegance of French’s Point.
The invitation suite featured soft blue artwork, delicate botanical illustrations, hand-painted floral details, and touches of warm coral and orange. A patterned envelope liner brought in another layer of the garden-inspired design, while the orange ribbon added texture and a playful pop of color.
The invitation suite wasn’t designed simply to announce the wedding. It was designed to introduce the experience.Guests could see the colors, setting, flowers, and overall feeling of the celebration before they ever arrived in Maine.
The custom artwork continued beyond the invitation. T&B’s French’s Point wedding stationery included a weekend wedding details card itinerary, welcome pieces, custom watercolor map artwork, and day-of details that helped guests navigate the weekend while continuing the same visual story.
The custom watercolor map illustrated the French’s Point property and surrounding landscape, giving guests a beautiful keepsake while also making the weekend details easy to follow.
Floral illustrations appeared throughout the paper goods, with the flowers used on the invitation suite and would eventually fill the ceremony and reception. This continuity between the Maine wedding stationery and floral design was intentional from the beginning.
When it came time to design the French’s Point wedding flowers, we carried the colors and botanical feeling from the paper into the floral design. T&B wanted their Maine wedding flowers to feel lush, colorful, romantic, and abundant without becoming overly formal.
We worked with a palette of coral, pink, peach, orange, soft blue, and fresh green, bringing together roses, ranunculus, hydrangea, cosmos, lisianthus, and other garden-inspired blooms. Rather than making every arrangement identical, the floral design was intentionally layered and organic.
Different vessels, flower combinations, heights, and textures created movement throughout the property and helped the flowers feel as though they belonged naturally within the French’s Point landscape.
The ceremony took place overlooking the water, with the Maine coastline providing a breathtaking natural backdrop. Rather than competing with the view, the French’s Point wedding flowers were designed to work with it and we chose a ground ceremony arch filled with bright colored meadow flowers.
Colorful floral arrangements lined the ceremony aisle, creating a garden-like pathway toward the water. Low and lush flowers were layered along the grass while larger groupings helped define the ceremony space. The flowers became part of the landscape rather than simply sitting in front of it.
The soft blue from the stationery appeared again in the floral palette, while coral, pink, peach, and orange brought warmth and energy to the waterfront setting.
The reception experience began before guests even entered the tent. At the tent entrance, we created a lush floral installation that framed the opening with layers of greenery and abundant pink and coral roses. The flowers climbed up and across the structure, creating a garden-inspired threshold that transitioned guests from the coastal landscape into the reception space.
Candles tucked along the base added warmth as the evening approached, while the sweeping greenery and flowers made the entrance feel like an extension of the surrounding gardens.
It was an opportunity to make the tent itself part of the floral design—not simply a structure containing the reception, but part of the experience.
For the reception, the floral design became even more abundant.
Long tables were filled with lush compote arrangements in coral, pink, peach, orange, and soft blue. Tall glass cylinders added height and candlelight, while the lower floral arrangements kept the tables feeling full and garden-inspired.
One of the most dramatic floral elements was the long installation running along the floor beside the reception tables.
It created a continuous garden-like border through the tent, visually connecting the individual tables and making the large reception space feel immersive.
The combination of colorful French’s Point wedding flowers, patterned linens, natural wood chairs, candlelight, and views toward the Maine landscape created a reception that felt relaxed, romantic, and distinctly coastal New England.
One of my favorite parts of designing T&B’s wedding was being able to create both the wedding stationery and floral design. The two don’t need to match exactly. Instead, they should feel like they belong to the same story.
For this Maine wedding, the watercolor French’s Point illustration established the visual direction. The blue botanical artwork and colorful flowers continued through the invitation suite and wedding weekend stationery, while the floral design brought those same colors and garden-inspired elements into the physical wedding space.
The result was a celebration where the paper details and wedding flowers felt connected without feeling overly coordinated. That is the kind of cohesion we love to create at Anaphora.
French’s Point offers an incredible setting for a destination wedding in Maine, with its coastal views, gardens, and relaxed New England atmosphere.
For T&B, that sense of place became part of the design from the very beginning.
Their guests first encountered French’s Point through a watercolor save the date. They then received a custom invitation suite that introduced the colors and botanical details of the wedding. By the time they arrived at the property, those same visual elements had come to life through the Maine wedding flowers, ceremony design, reception florals, and weekend stationery.
Every piece was connected, but nothing felt forced. It was a wedding designed around the place, the couple, and the experience they wanted to create for their guests.
Anaphora is a Vermont wedding florist and design studio creating garden-inspired wedding flowers and custom wedding stationery throughout Vermont and New England, including destination weddings in Maine.
For T&B’s French’s Point wedding, we designed both the floral and stationery elements, creating a cohesive visual story that began with their watercolor save the date and continued through their wedding weekend.
