A TAYLOR SWIFT LOVER-INSPIRED WEDDING AT SUGARBUSH RESORT IN WARREN, VERMONT
This wedding felt like walking straight into the Lover era. Soft, joyful, expressive, colorful, and unapologetically romantic.
Inspired by Taylor Swift’s Lover album, this Sugarbush Resort wedding embraced pastel color in a way that felt intentional, layered, and completely personal. The design was not about choosing one color and repeating it everywhere. Instead, every part of the celebration brought something different to the story.
Pink, lavender, airy blue, buttery yellow, soft peach, and garden greens came together through the flowers, wedding party attire, tables, ceremony design, and the sweetest personal details. It felt joyful from beginning to end.
A Pastel Color Story That Didn’t Play by the Rules
Instead of choosing one signature wedding color, this couple leaned into an entire pastel palette. Blush pinks, lavender, airy blues, buttery yellows, peach, and soft garden greens appeared throughout the Sugarbush wedding design. The result was colorful without feeling chaotic.
The bridesmaids wore a beautiful collection of pastel dresses, and each bridal bouquet was designed to coordinate with the individual dress rather than match it exactly. The same approach carried through to the guys. Each boutonniere was thoughtfully designed to complement the pastel dresses and ties while still feeling like part of the overall floral story.
This is one of my favorite ways to work with color. Everything does not have to match to feel connected. Instead, the colors can speak to one another.
WEDDING FLOWERS DESIGNED AROUND THE COUPLE
The flowers were colorful, romantic, and full of movement, with a garden-inspired feel that worked beautifully inside the mountain setting at Sugarbush Resort.The bridal bouquets were some of my favorites. Each one had its own personality while still belonging to the same overall floral collection.
The boutonnieres were another favorite detail. Rather than treating them as an afterthought, I designed each one to coordinate with the wedding party’s clothing and the larger color story. Every floral detail had a purpose. The flowers were not simply there to fill a space. They helped connect the people, colors, and spaces throughout the entire wedding dy.
WHERE EVERYTHING CAME TOGETHER: THE SWEETHEART TABLE & CEREMONY ARCH
While the guest tables celebrated individuality, the sweetheart table and ceremony arch were the moments where the entire color story came together.
The ceremony arch was filled with lush, garden-inspired flowers in a mix of pinks, peaches, lavender, blue, yellow, and soft neutrals. Rather than limiting the design to one or two colors, we allowed the entire palette to come alive.
Then there was the sweetheart table. It was a true wow moment. The table was filled with color and surrounded by abundant floral design, creating a focal point that felt completely in keeping with the joyful spirit of the Lover inspiration.
And then came the moon. A custom floral moon chandelier was created especially for the couple and hung above the sweetheart table. Covered in soft blue flowers with delicate pink and lavender blooms tucked throughout, it became one of the most memorable installations of the entire wedding. It was the perfect finishing touch.
COLORFUL WEDDING TABLES WITH A PASTEL TWIST
The reception tables were designed to feel collected rather than perfectly matched.
Each table featured its own combination of pastel colors. The linens varied, too, so the flowers could complement the tablecloths without trying to match. The blue linen might be paired with pink and peach flowers. Another table could lean lavender and yellow. Another might bring in more blush, blue, and garden green.
Together, the tables created a colorful landscape throughout the reception space. The goal was never for everything to look identical. It was about creating harmony while allowing each table to have its own personality. That is what made the overall design feel playful, romantic, and very Lover.
PERSONAL DETAILS THAT MADE THIS SUGARBUSH WEDDING THEIRS
Some of my favorite wedding details are the ones that could only belong to that couple.
Their golden retriever was an especially important part of the day, and of course, I had to create flowers for him too.
I absolutely love creating floral collars and flower details for wedding dogs. A beloved pet is part of the family, so including them in the wedding design can make the day feel even more personal. Their pup was just one of the many details that made this wedding feel like a true reflection of the couple.
The flowers were colorful. The design was perfectly whimsical and beautiful. The entire celebration had a sense of personality that you could feel in every room.
FLORALS THAT TELL A STORY, NOT JUST FILL A SPACE
Every floral choice was made with intention.
Florals guided guests through the space, softened the architecture of the Sugarbush reception area, and added warmth and romance to every moment from ceremony to celebration. That is what I love most about wedding floral design. Flowers can become part of the narrative rather than simply sitting in the background.
A bridal bouquet can complement a dress and a boutonniere can pull together a suit and the wedding palette.
A ceremony arch can transform a room. while a sweetheart table can become the focal point of the reception. Add a custom floral moon can make the entire design feel unmistakably their own. That’s exactly what I want for your wedding!
A SUGARBUSH RESORT WEDDING IN WARREN, VERMONT
Sugarbush Resort was the perfect setting for this colorful Vermont wedding. Located in Warren in the Mad River Valley, the resort offers mountain wedding spaces, outdoor ceremony locations, and indoor reception spaces with views of the surrounding landscape.
For this celebration, the warm wood architecture provided a beautiful backdrop for all of the pastel color. Instead of competing with the setting, the flowers brought the softness, romance, and personality of the couple into the space. That contrast is part of what made the design so memorable.

One of the biggest honors from this wedding was seeing it featured by Love Inc. Magazine.
The publication highlighted the couple’s Lover-inspired wedding, including the pastel floral design, the golden retriever, and the many personal details that made the celebration so meaningful. Anaphora was credited as the floral designer for the wedding.
Seeing this wedding and this couple’s story shared in Love Inc. was such a special moment for me. I was so happy that the golden retriever got his moment too, because if you are getting to know me, you know I love my goldens!
WHY THIS WEDDING STILL MEANS SO MUCH TO ME
This wedding is a reminder of why I do what I do. Weddings do not need to fit inside a box to feel timeless. The color can be romantic even with making pastels powerful. They just need to feel like you.
This couple gave me the freedom to create something colorful, expressive, and completely personal. From the bouquets and boutonnieres to the ceremony arch, colorful tables, floral moon, and even flowers for their dog, every detail told a little piece of their story.
And that is always the goal. To create wedding flowers that feel like your wedding, not somebody else’s.
