When I asked Julia what the theme and decorations for her wedding would be, her answer was simple: “Flowers.” To her, flowers weren’t just décor, they were the heart of the celebration. She had breathtakingly high expectations, and I was honored that she trusted me and my team at Anaphora to bring them to life.
Bringing the outside in
Julia and her husband were married at a gorgeous barn surrounded by a wildflower sanctuary. Their dream was to carry the beauty of the outside world into their wedding day. When she first discovered my work, it was through a gallery on my website that captured her heart. It a wedding overflowing with beauty, elegance, and abundant florals. Later, she learned that the gallery she loved most was actually my own son’s wedding, and she asked me to create something just like it… but bigger. Ten bridesmaids, six flower girls, and “the most gorgeous arbor ever” was no easy task. To say we nailed it was an understatement!
Designing with intention
We had multiple check-ins throughout the planning process to ensure Julia’s vision aligned with seasonal blooms, color palettes, and design details. I offered advice and updates along the way, always keeping communication open so she felt supported and confident. The goal was clear: florals that didn’t just meet her expectations, but exceeded them.
the big day - rain and all
When the wedding day finally arrived, the skies opened up. It was pouring rain as I unloaded and delivered armfuls of flowers, but nothing could stop me from making sure every stem was perfect. Out in the rain for hours, I built an arbor that Julia later described as “the most stunning arbor I’ve ever seen.” My team and I filled the barn with florals that carried the wild beauty of the sanctuary inside — from the ceremony to the reception tables adorned with floral runners instead of cloth.
The bridal party couldn’t stop commenting on the bouquets, calling them true works of art. Guests gathered around the arbor for photos long after the ceremony, and everywhere you looked, flowers were the centerpiece of the celebration.

Julia dried her bouquet so she could keep a piece of her wedding alive forever. In her own words:
